Invitation to SKIF World Championship XII 2016 - Jakarta

Dear Members of SKIF,

Oss !!!

We are honored to be trusted as the host country for The 12th SKIF World Championship with only 1 year of preparation time. As we all know, Indonesia hosted the 7th SKIF World Championship on April 2000 in Bali, Indonesia, which by many, is considered to be one of the greatest events in SKIF history in spite of the challenges put forth by The Asian Financial Crisis at the time.

Although we are excited to host the 12th SKIF World Championship, we are, once again, experiencing the region and country’s financial and economic turmoil. However, as karatekas, we strive to overcome whatever turbulence we face, and are committed to making the 12th SKIF World Championship a success and a memorable experience for all of us. We need your prayers and support to help make this event a success.

The event will be held from August 22nd to August 28th, 2016 in Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia. Keep in mind that Jakarta will have a different feel, perspective, and experience than Bali.

Jakarta is a buzzing and vibrant 24 hour city, with about 10 million inhabitants (and 20 million if we incorporate the Greater Jakarta area). Jakarta will celebrate its 489th birthday in 2016, although the city started its establishment as early as the 4th century AD. Albeit that fact, Jakarta has a GDP of about USD 125 billion, the highest in the nation. Jakarta also has the most cars and motorcycles on the road, which induces it into being the city with the worst traffic in the world.

The 12th SKIF World Championship would be a historical event for Indonesia as we would be the first country to host the World Championship more than once, and would be the first world championship for Nobuaki sensei and Murakami sensei as Kancho and Chief Instructors, respectively.

Therefore we, SKIF Indonesia, invite all Presidents, Chief Instructors, Judges, Referees, and Karatekas who are members of SKIF to participate and celebrate in this historical first moment.

The organizing committee is happy to announce that we have been able to secure special pricings for airline, hotels and bus charter.  We managed to get discount at our partner hotels by prepaying large number of rooms. All hotel rooms booked through the organizing committee will have special privileges such as free mini bars (at the Sultan), free airport greetings to help with immigration and custom at the airport, free farewell party, etc. If your delegation need help with transport booking, please advise as we have also partnered with some transportation companies.

For participants who will fly on Sky Team member airlines, such as Garuda, will also enjoy special pricing on case by case basis, as we have negotiated special pricing with Garuda Indonesia.

Please find the details and registration form of the SKIF XII on our website. We encourage everyone to register on line early to help us better prepare for this historical event.Your continuous support and prayers are greatly appreciated.

We shall remain humbly at your service.

Regards,

ttd pak aldrin
